Bogus cold caller - Carbis Bay, St Ives

Police have received a report of a bogus cold caller calling at an address in Carbis Bay, St Ives during the period of the storm. The male purported to be providing tree cutting services. 

it is not known whether this was legitimate but please e vigilant and wary of all cold callers, all employees of these companies must identify themselves correctly, if unsure contact the company to verify the name and credentials before allowing them into your home.

If in doubt, keep them out. Ask them to make an appointment or come back later when someone else is around. Genuine callers won’t mind. If you are suspicious, report the incident to the police. 
Do not open the door if you are uncomfortable doing so. A door chain allows you to open the door enough for you to see who is calling before shutting the door if necessary.
